How It Works in the Engine
Pressed into the bore, the bushing takes the running wear itself: the pin or shaft rides on the bushing's inner surface, which is far cheaper and faster to replace than machining or line-boring the housing it sits in. That's the whole point of the part — it's designed to be the thing that wears out first, on purpose.
