Gasket Manufacturer & Supplier – EMD 645 & 710 Parts
Overview
EMD 645/710 engines use gaskets across a wide range of joints — cylinder head and liner jumpers, water pump housings, oil and fuel line connections — each with a different combination of temperature, pressure, and fluid to seal against. There's no single material that's right for all of them.
How It Works in the Engine
Depending on the joint, that means multi-layer steel gaskets with an elastomer coating for head and liner sealing, or solid copper for joints that need to hold shape precisely across repeated heat cycles. What every gasket on this engine has in common is that it has to hold a seal from a cold morning start-up straight through to full-load running without the joint face moving relative to it.
Signs You Need a Replacement
- Coolant, oil, or fuel seepage visible at a joint face
- Hardening, cracking, or loss of the sealing coating after repeated heat cycles
- A joint that needed re-torquing sooner than expected
- Blow-by or pressure loss at a head or liner joint
Why Source This From Apex International
Each gasket is matched by material and profile to the joint it's built for and cross-referenced to the EMD/DLW part it replaces, rather than supplied as a generic flat-stock cut that happens to fit the bolt pattern.
